WEEKLY BED

_____________________________________________________________

The puerperium is the period between the birth of the placenta and 8 weeks after the birth. During this special time, the physical changes of the pregnancy will subside. If you want to breastfeed, the foundations are laid here and the relationship between you and your baby takes centre stage. During this time, you will (ideally) be supported by a midwife who visits you regularly at home. She will, for example, answer the many new questions and accompany you through this first sensitive time, which can also be a time of uncertainty.

If you are registered with us for the birth, the obstetric team will plan the first postnatal period together with you. Whether and for how long you will be cared for by your known team in the postnatal period also depends on your place of residence and the distance to the birthing centre. Unfortunately, we are not able to provide complete care for all postnatal beds. If you already have a midwife for your postnatal care, we will be happy to contact you with your permission and provide you with relevant information.

We also offer outreach postnatal care to a limited extent.

Please send enquiries to: wochenbett@geburtundgesundheit.hamburg

If you do not have full postnatal care from us, you can make an appointment at any time in our MIDWIFE OUTPATIENT CLINIC  agree.
