Theme dates

for all pregnant women and women who have recently given birth

From this year onwards, we will be offering regular appointments on relevant topics during pregnancy and after the birth.

Some topics are always relevant for all pregnant women or women who have recently given birth and their partners and children and are addressed in every care programme. For this reason, we now offer themed appointments on a specific topic. Each appointment lasts 90 minutes and you are free to decide whether and to which appointment you want to come. These appointments are open to all pregnant women and women in labour, regardless of where you want to give birth. A planned birth centre birth is therefore none Prerequisite for participating in the themed events.

A group format is ideal so that we can offer these appointments on a regular basis and you have the opportunity to talk to each other.

This offer is also open to people without or with unclear health insurance.

The costs for partners, as well as external Participants pay €18 per appointment.
Please register via the website.

The themed events are held in German.

From this year onwards, there will be regular meetings on the following topics

Baby care and handling

What needs does my baby have?

U-booklet and examinations after birth for the newborn

This appointment is all about examinations of the baby after birth and in the puerperium:

Which examinations are carried out by the midwife in the first 3 days?

When does the baby need to be seen by a paediatrician?

We explain the U-booklet and talk about paediatric care in the 1st year of life (U-examinations, vaccinations).

It also deals with heel prick blood sampling (a test for congenital metabolic diseases), screening for unrecognised heart defects and supplementation with vitamin D, vitamin K and fluoride.

The latency phase

In the first phase of labour (latency phase), the course is set for the rest of the birth. This phase is characterised by its high sensitivity to disruptive factors, its frequently long course and often experienced uncertainty and conflicting feelings.

To strengthen your self-efficacy and sense of control, we recommend preparing for the latency phase during pregnancy.

In this session we want to talk about the physiology, i.e. the typical course of the latency phase, and work out together how you can manage this phase safely and comfortably.

Some questions could be:

  • What does the latency phase need?
  • How long does it usually last?
  • How do I cope with the sensations (pain) in the latency phase?
  • How can I promote a good labour during the latency phase?
  • What can partners and carers do?
  • When is a good time to go to the birthplace?

And much more...

Start complementary food

Is your child ready for complementary food?

What should and may be eaten and when?

What should I look out for in the composition of the food?

Porridge, finger food, baby-led weaning - what is it and what is suitable for us?

Your child is optimally supplied with breast milk and/or formula for at least 6 months. The start of complementary feeding is then recommended in combination with formula. We would like to discuss what this might look like together in the group and invite you to an exchange.

The pelvic floor

The pelvic floor is particularly challenged during pregnancy. In this session, we want to provide you with information about the anatomy and functions of the pelvic floor and try out strengthening and mobilising exercises together.

A strong pelvic floor is important for good posture, sexuality, preventing birth injuries and protecting against incontinence before and after labour.
