Support concept

Our team will look after you throughout your pregnancy, during the birth in the birthing centre and during the first few days of the postnatal period at home. You also have the option of being cared for by us during your pregnancy and in the postnatal period if you are planning to give birth in a hospital. The midwife can confirm your pregnancy and issue you with a maternity pass. She will carry out all relevant examinations independently. Normally, antenatal check-ups are carried out as individual appointments, i.e. one pregnant woman with one midwife. The ultrasound examinations are carried out at your gynaecological practice.

Procedure

You can either come to our information evening for general information or make an appointment directly with us for a non-binding preliminary consultation. At the preliminary consultation, a midwife from the team responsible for you will give you an overview of all the appointments planned during your pregnancy. There will be plenty of time and space to discuss your questions. During this personalised appointment, we will also clarify whether there are any reasons that speak against a birth centre birth.

If you decide to be cared for by our team, all relevant examinations during your pregnancy will take place at our birthing centre. You are welcome to bring your sibling(s) or partner with you.

We carry out antenatal check-ups based on the maternity guidelines. They take place every four weeks and every fortnight from the 28th week of pregnancy. These include

• Blood and urine tests
• Blood pressure measurement
• Weight control
• Nutritional counseling
• Checking the child's heartbeat
• Assessment of the regular growth of your child.

The appointments during pregnancy are very important in order to get to know each other well and build up a relationship of mutual trust. If any abnormalities occur, our midwives will refer you to medical staff for further clarification or diagnostics.

All costs are covered by statutory and private health insurance companies. One exception is the on-call flat rate - this is often only partially covered by health insurance and is therefore usually a self-payment service. 

The on-call service

From the 37th week of pregnancy, your midwives will be on call for you. They are available around the clock for you and your mum if the birth begins. You will receive the telephone numbers of your midwives specifically for the on-call service in good time.

The on-call allowance from week 37+0 to 42+0 of pregnancy is partially reimbursed by health insurance companies. You can enquire about the amount from your health insurance provider.

We have decided in favour of a solidarity-based on-call allowance. This means that you decide on a suitable amount based on a realistic self-assessment and the principle of solidarity. In order to simplify this realistic assessment of your own financial situation, we work with what is known as the "on-call allowance". Green bottle principle. We will discuss the details at the preliminary meeting.
