Being a parent

a workshop for all those who already care for children

This workshop is aimed at parents who want to find out what being a parent means socially and for the partnership and how family life can be organised on an equal footing.

We have become a family, you and me and the child. And while some of our roles and tasks as parents were planned and intended, others just happened, we grew into them together, sometimes slipped into them. And the result is our very unique family. Which parts do we feel comfortable with? Which ones would we like to change, and where does everyday life keep forcing us to do something?

Mutual hopes, wishes and ideas have arisen and are still there; and with them, a division of tasks and roles has developed that lies somewhere between „consciously chosen“, „it turned out that way“ and „there's no other way“. Is all this still true for us?

Who do we want to be as parents together? How do we want to be there for each other? Who for the child and how? And how can we still be there for ourselves, for our own ideas and wishes? How can we as parents support each other in our decisions? And encourage each other that everything we need for this task is already within us anyway?

What is my area, my issues, what is your area, your issues, and how do they fit together with a child? And what can still be moved, even though it seems immovable?
