What happened so far...
PART V
New blog entry - new happiness. And this time we really are over the moon 🥰.
Even if we still had to wait a little while for all the formalities, we were soon able to announce it loudly:
We ended up in a beautiful house at Caspar-Voght Straße 35c in Hammer Park! Not only that, we even started the remodelling work straight away.
You've probably heard that tradespeople and some building materials are hard to find at the moment. Oh boy, were we worried about getting everything organised!
Fortunately, we have a great network (thanks to Felix and Valeen❤️) and within a very short time we had a construction management team, a highly motivated Berlin crew of craftsmen, a plumber, an electrician, a painter, a tiler and a carpenter on site.
When we stood in the house for the very first time, it was clear that a lot needed to be done here. Let's put it this way: it took a bit of imagination to visualise the finished house.
But as soon as the first rooms had a new floor (Felix, you're the best!) and as more and more walls were given a new coat of paint (Sam, you're the best too!), it was clear that this was going to be an awesome birthplace! (You'll have to forgive us for this pun from time to time).
The opening (unfortunately without a party😔 due to Corona) is planned for 1 January, and as we are accompanying families who want to have their babies in the birth centre soon, we will go through with it, come what may 💪.
The renovation is coming to an end, most of the furnishings are finished and the smaller things are gradually coming together. This evening, for example, there was an exciting discussion about laundry baskets 😅.
You think you've thought of everything and then you still have such boiling hot thoughts like: do we actually need a hoover???!!!!
Yes, Christmas isn't quite as festive this year 😇.
