How to find the House for Birth and Health at Grootsruhe 2
The Haus für Geburt und Gesundheit is centrally located and easy to reach by public transport as well as by car. The bus station (lines 25, 130, 261, 606, 609, 610, X35) and the Burgstraße underground station are diagonally opposite.
Travelling by public transport
- Starting point: In Hamburg, take one of the S-Bahn lines (S1, S2 or S3) or U-Bahn lines (U2 or U3) to the Hauptbahnhof, Jungfernstieg or Berliner Tor station.
- From Jungfernstieg / Hauptbahnhof / Berliner Tor: Take the underground line U2 in the direction of „Hammer Kirche“.
- Travel to the station “Burgstraße”.
- From U Burgstraße: Walk 1 minute through the subway to Grootsruhe 2.
- Destination: The House for Birth and Health is located on the left-hand side in a red brick building on the ground floor and first floor.
By car
- Starting point: Take the A1 or A7 motorway in the direction of Hamburg.
- Take the exit onto the B5 towards the city centre.
- Follow the B5 and then turn onto Grevenweg.
- Turn right onto Hammer Landstraße
- Turn right into Grootsruhe 2.
The house is on the left-hand side. - Parking: There are parking facilities nearby, either on the street with a parking disc in Grootsruhe 2 or with a parking ticket in neighbouring streets.
There are of course car parks in the courtyard for the birth. These are signposted with “Birth” and “Midwife”.

How to find the House for Birth and Health in Hammer Park
By public transport
The quickest way to reach us by public transport is to get off at the Caspar-Voght-Straße bus stop. The bus stop is served by the X35, 116, 261 and 609.
At the junction (Sievekingsallee / Casper-Voght-Straße), turn left into Caspar-Voght-Straße and walk down the street until you see the entrance to Hammer Park on the right-hand side. If you follow this entrance, you will see the Haus für Geburt und Gesundheit on the left-hand side within approx. 3 minutes.
Our signs are located both at the entrance to Hammer Park and at our gate.
By car
From out of town (west)
From the city centre, drive past the Berliner Tor S-Bahn station and turn right into Sievekingsallee at U-Burgstraße.
Cycle along this road until you are approximately at Sievekingsallee 90 and can turn onto Caspar-Voght-Straße. When turning off, you can orientate yourself by turning off at the KOECH bike shop. Shortly afterwards, you will be in a street where you will see brick houses on your left and lots of trees on your right.
Continue along this road until you see a gate on your right (just before a give way sign). You now have the option of parking on the road or driving through the gate.
When you drive through the gate, you will soon see a sign at our entrance that reads ‘Haus für Geburt und Gesundheit‘. You are welcome to park in Caspar-Voght-Straße. There are plenty of parking spaces available here. If you come to the birth, you can of course drive up to the house and park there.
From the city centre (east)
The best way to get to the birthplace from the eastern part of Hamburg is to drive along the A24 motorway to the Horner Kreisel roundabout. Then take the second exit onto Sievekingsallee and drive along the road.
At the Caspar-Voght-Straße bus stop or the ceramic painting shop ‘DIE MALBUCHT‘, turn left into Caspar-Voght-Straße.
Shortly afterwards you are in a street where you see brick houses on your left and lots of trees on your right.
Continue along this road until you see a gate on your right (just before a give way sign). You now have the option of parking on the road or driving through the gate.
